31 Things learned in Bengaluru
I'm back home today after my trip to stay in Bangalore. Here are few things that i learned in these 3+ weeks of my stay there.
1. Bangalore is now Bengaluru.
2. To read 'Kannada' font. It's damn easy. All you need to know is Telugu font.
3. To wear a Helmet. Yeh! For the first time. Traffic rules are much stricter there.
4. Learned that my head is real big. The helmet could hardly fit my head in :D
5. 'yes' and 'no' in Kannada.
6. Learned to interact in English most times. Most can understand telugu too.
7. There's availability of Cow's milk everywhere and not the Buffalo's milk you get in AP.
8. To count the no. of the Pani Puri that get dropped in my plate before i gulp them. I always forget the count midway inorder to catch up the speed of the guy who puts them in the plate :D
9. Got to know that more than 50% of local residents do not know Kannada.
10. Searching the address locations and route maps using Google maps.
11. Taking in telephonic interviews.
12. To be smart enough in saying "About Me" during a telephonic conversation with consultancies.
13. To make Boost, cook rice, Rasam, fry Califlower and learned how cooker works.
14. Minimum auto meter charge is rs14 / 2kms and there after 70paise for every 100meters distance traveled.
15. PVR Cinemas has the highest price rate for a special theater (Gold class) in it's complex. Rs650/- a ticket! I was surprised. I can watch 130 movies on my player here in Tanuku for that amount! (Rs.5 a movie cd). It has got a total of 11theaters in it's complex, ForumMall. Weekend shows have higher ticket prices.
16. People come in cars to buy vegetables in the market! Well, the amount they spent on fuel is noteworthy.
17. People are much aware of traffic rules and they follow them. Not the way it is in Hyderabad.
19. Potato chips in sambar rice combination makes a real good taste to eat during lunch.
20. Staying away offline without using internet is not as difficult as i thought earlier.
21. If it isn't my own home here in Tanuku, I'm not allowed to sleep until 12mid day elsewhere. Learned to get up before 9am from bed and sleep before 12midnight :D
22. Choosing fresh vegetables from the nearby market. Selection isn't an easy job!
23. There are a ton of job consultancies in Bangalore most look for some sort of money investment in the name of training or tests.
24. KSRTC sucks! Buses do not ply regularly in all routes and the fare is also high.
25. Registering in naukri or monster doesn't bring in jobs or offer letters. Most of them are fake out there.
26. INR1lakh a year is the donation for a LKG seat in popular schools. Horrible!
27. Exploring Bangalore on foot is not a bad idea! You get people to give u a lift on their bikes at times you need. This is a friendly city on my observation.
28. Even, all the fruits are sold in "weight" terms and not in dozens. Felt strange hearing an order of 1kg bananas in the fruit market :D
29. Airtel has a clearcut domination in providing broadband services in the entire city.
30. There are good number of Opel Corsas, Fiat Palios. I haven't ever seen an Opel on the AP roads.
31. Learned the way how not to narrate a love story ;) after telling everything.
PS: That's all i could recollect while compiling this post at 1:20am. Yes yes! I'm back home. May be 'll stay here for a week or two and be back to bangalore again. I'm in need of a job desperately.

Google Maps??? really? that is good.
quite a fast learner... u learned to cook all that?

I'm shocked! people in b;ore follow traffic rules?? when, where and how did this happen? and helmet rule is followed?
potato chip is a great combo with rasam rice too.. all time fave :)

good luck with ur job hunt:)
